No matter where you are in iDiscrete, the big blue "iD" orb in the top right corner is your ticket to getting things done. Tap it to import content from your Camera Roll/Media Library, or to start the File Manager and transfer files from your computer. Additionally, you can create folders (or subfolders) from this menu, as well as directly capture images or videos (if you are in the "Pictures" or "Videos" folders, respectively).
New in iDiscrete 2.1 is the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. This toolbar dynamically changes its icons depending on the situation, but most often you'll see these four, in order from left to right:
View – This is an "eye" icon, and it is used to change the view settings for a particular folder. You may choose between List, Small Thumbnails or Large Thumbnails. View settings are saved for each individual folder.
Sort – This is a "folder" icon, and it is used to change the manner in which the files of a particular folder are sorted. You may choose between Alphabetical, Date Added or File Type, all in either ascending (arrow up) or descending (arrow down) order. If you want to manually arrange the order of your files, you can do that too; just choose "Manual" at the very top. This will change the view of the folder to List, and will allow the files to be reordered by touching and dragging on the "three lines" indicator at the far right. Once you have the files in the order you want them, you can change the view from List to something else, if you prefer.
Search – This is a "magnifying glass" icon, and it is used to search iDiscrete for certain strings of text. If you initiate the search from the Home Screen it will search all of iDiscrete for your desired text. If, on the other hand, you initiate the search from within a folder, it will only search that folder.
Select – This is a "hand" icon, and it is used when you need to select multiple files at once. You will notice that touching this icon changes the other icons in the toolbar. From left to right, they now are: Email, Move and Delete. Select as many files as you'd like and then choose one of these three options; it will perform that action en masse. If you want to back out of the "Select" mode without doing anything, just press "Done" in the top right corner.
The last thing to remember when navigating iDiscrete is that you can always long-press on a file to bring up a menu of additional options (the only exception being the List view, where the long-press action does not yet work. Instead, touch the "blue carrot" icon on the right; it does the same thing.) There are a number of different tasks you can accomplish from this menu, like exporting the image/video to the Camera Roll, copying the image/video to the clipboard, renaming the file, et al.
