As you are probably aware, there are two different versions of iDiscrete: one for the App Store, and one for Cydia. The Cydia version, called iDiscrete JB, doesn't have to abide by Apple's arbitrary rules (of which there are many) regarding third-party applications. Thus, you can think of iDiscrete JB as the "true" version of the app, that works exactly as we originally envisioned it, without any meaningless restrictions getting in the way. The App Store version, on the other hand, is kind of like the "neutered" version. ;-) It has MOST of the features the JB version has, with two exceptions, which are listed below. These are the features Apple won't let you have:

1) App Vault

App Vault is exactly what it sounds like: It allows you to remove entire apps from the springboard and store them inside iDiscrete. You can think of your App Vault as a second, secret springboard where you can keep any apps that you may not want others to know you have on your device. These apps can only be accessed through iDiscrete, and no trace of them will be found anywhere else, not even in the recent apps tray.

To access your App Vault, just tap the "vault" icon in the bottom right corner of the Home Screen. After that, tap the "+" icon in the top right corner to add apps to the App Vault. You will see all your apps, listed in alphabetical order, with a "springboard" icon next to them. This icon indicates that the app currently resides on the springboard. If you touch an app, you will see that the icon changes to a vault with the word "Changed" next to it. Tapping it again will undo this change. You can scroll through your list of applications and add as many as you'd like to your App Vault, and when you are done, pressing "Save" in the top right corner will lock in your changes. Next you will see your App Vault screen again, this time with the new apps in it. If you exit the app, you will see that those apps are no longer on the springboard! Once you have apps in your App Vault, you can manipulate them exactly as you would on the regular springboard. Just long-press on an app icon and they will all start wiggling around, indicating that you can now drag to reorder them. Tapping the "X" on a wiggling app icon will remove it from the App Vault and return it to the springboard.

2) Hide Behind

Like App Vault, "Hide Behind" is a really cool new feature available only for JB users. We think it is the most foolproof possible way to hide iDiscrete from prying eyes, but sadly, Apple won't allow it in the regular version. The way it works is by completely removing iDiscrete from the springboard, and instead hiding it "behind" an existing app. The next time you open that particular app, you will see a black screen with a small loading circle in the middle. This makes it look like the app is loading, but really this is where you input your Touch Sequence (thus, this new black screen is exactly like the old fake "Loading" screen where you put in your Touch Sequence, it just looks different). If the correct Touch Sequence is entered before the Timeout expires, then iDiscrete will open. If not, then the app iDiscrete is hiding behind will load like normal. So, an unauthorized user who happens to launch the app would simply think that it took a few seconds to load, and then opened up. They will never know that iDiscrete was involved in any way… Cool huh?? ;-)

There are two vitally important things you MUST remember if you choose to utilize the "Hide Behind" feature:

#1: Don't forget the app iDiscrete is hiding behind! If you do, there is NO recovery option, other than going through all your apps one by one until you find it. That would be a pretty painful endeavor, so don't let it happen to you!

#2: ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY DO NOT FORGET YOUR TOUCH SEQUENCE!! IF YOU DO, THEN YOUR CONTENT WILL BE PERMANENTLY INACCESSIBLE!! When "Hide Behind" is turned off, there is a dummy "My Notes" app that loads after the fake loading screen where you input your Touch Sequence. This is the area where you would put in your Reset Code in the event that you forget your Touch Sequence, which would reset the security settings and let you into the app again. With "Hide Behind" turned on, there is NO place to input your Reset Code. So, if you forget your Touch Sequence, YOU ARE OUT OF LUCK!!
